If you’ve been reading this for any length of time, you know all about The Buffalo Wine and Dine Dinner Club. We’re going into our ninth year of doing Saturday night dinners every other month, and our sixth year of spending New Year’s Eve together. On New Year’s Eve, we welcome Patty from San Francisco as an honorary Buffalo. (She cooks really well, and leaves the wine for us because she drinks Scotch. What’s not to like?) And every year we come up with some dumb theme. We’ve had Mystery Dinner Theater night, Cowboy night, and we’ve had Dinner at The La Posada Hotel in Winslow. (Yes, we visited the corner in Winslow, Arizona. It took me weeks to get that damn Eagle’s song out of my head.)
This year we went casual, up at Marv and Wendi’s spectacular cabin in Happy Jack, to play Wii Bowling. This Bowling theme didn’t exactly scream gourmet food (think Little Smokies, onion dip and hot wings), so I’m not sharing any recipes (although Patti & Bill made some great chicken and Tressa’s mac ‘n cheese was good even if she did forget to put the bread crumbs on top – too much wine, I guess). Barbara was on the injured reserve list, but made a great cheerleader.
Anyway, a great time was had by all, and I thought you’d enjoy seeing some photos.
