Easter is just around the corner and it’s time to order up your gourmet chocolate Easter bunny. I’m not talking about the thin-walled, waxy version that Wal-mart stocks on every end cap this time of year. I’m talking about the good stuff. Gourmet chocolate. Over the next few days, we’ll hippity-hop around chocolate land and look at some alternatives.
We’ve talked about Luxury Chocolates at Vosges Haut-Chocolat before, particularly their unusual and really good chocolate-bacon bars. Happily, they make Bacon and Eggs,
a chocolate-bacon Easter egg (as well as their Flying chocolate bacon pigs), but evidently felt that there was just something wrong with combining bacon and bunnies. I mean, Bugs Bunny nearly killed Elmer Fudd too many times to count. What do you think he would have done with Porky Pig?
Vosges Chocolate Easter Bunny Collection is cute. More to the point, it’s delicious and decidedly gourmet chocolate. Flavors like sweet butter toffee with pink Himalayan salt, or the creatively named Barcelona Bunny which combines hickory-smoked almonds with grey sea salt.
