I tried the Barclay's Wine Club when I got a deal through Groupon. Not anywhere near as good as some of the other clubs - like Zagat. I'm also very interested in trying the club at VirginWines.com.

This is so up our alley. My partner Marlene Samuels and I founded ExpendableEdibles.com because throwing out perfectly good food feels immoral, wasteful and even un-creative. So like ethnographic researchers, we've been compiling a community cookbook of gourmet rescues in six categories: Negligible Quantities; Stems, Skins & Stalks; Past Peak; Once Cooked; Nearly Expired; and Ill-Fated Creations.

We'd love to publish your leftover steak recipes, but even more so, we’re curious how you deal with other expendable edibles. Have a look at The Expendable Edibles Blog, whose major focus are chef interviews. And let me know what day/time suits you best. I’m here in Chicago at 773-255-4677. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Cheers,

I purchased the 4 seasons wine club last year for my husband for Christmas. We like that we only get a case of wine each quarter (instead of every month) and most of the wines have been pretty good for the price.

Thank you for your great comments about Choclatique. It is a labor of love. This is our favorite time of year--the beginning of the holidays--when we can really be creative with all of our new goodies. Not only is there the Boo Box, but our exciting new Chocolate Cherry Cordials, Retro Cocktails and a bunch of new brittles--Almond, Cashew and Pecan. These are followed up with all of our new flavors in The Holidays assortments, just in time for, well, THE HOLIDAYS!
